SK브로드밴드가 인터넷+방송 신규 가입자를 대상으로 갤럭시S23 스타벅스 에디션, 노트북 등의 4000만원 규모의 선물을 추첨 증정하는 이벤트를 진행한다.
SK브로드밴드는 다음달 31일까지 새해 및 신학기 시즌을 맞아 새로운 출발을 응원하는 '계~묘한 새출발' 이벤트를 진행한다고 7일 밝혔다.
적용 대상은 SK브로드밴드와 SK텔레콤 관계없이 500kt인터넷가입M급 이상 초고속 인터넷과 방송(IPTV, 케이블TV) 결합상품에 가입하는 신규 고객이다.
보험계약은 보험가입자가 부담하는 보험료에 비해 보험사고가 발생했을 경우 받게 되는 보험금이 더 크다는 점에서 기본적으로 사행성을 내포하고 있습니다.
보험사 입장에서는 보험계약을 체결할 때 통상의 위험률을 가진 사람이 아닌 보험사고 발생 가능성이 높은 사람, 즉 사행적 목적을 가진 사람이 자진해서 보험에 가입하는 것을 막아야 할 것입니다. 그래야만 회사를 운영할 수 있겠죠.
이런 측면에서 상법은 보험계약자 측에 ‘고지의무’라는 것을 부과하고 있습니다.
고지의무란 보험계약자 또는 피보험자(보험사고 대상자)가 보험계약을 체결함에 있어 보험계약의 중요한 사항을 보험사에 알려야 하는 의무를 말합니다. 과거 질병, 입원 이력이나 직업 등이 해당하죠.
고지의무를 위반하게 되면 보험계약이 해지되고 보험금을 받을 수 없습니다.
그러나 현실에서는 보험계약 시 작성하는 서류를 보험계약자가 직접 작성하는 경우는 많지 않습니다. 대부분 보험계약자로부터 정보를 전달받은 보험설계사가 보험사에 고지할 사항에 그 내용을 적어 넣고 보험계약자로부터는 사인을 받는 형태로 계약이 체결됩니다.
이런 과정에서 보험설계사가 보험계약자로부터 고지 내용을 잘못 듣고 기재하기도 합니다. 처음부터 보험계약자와 짜고 보험사에 알려야 할 사항을 알리지 않기로 하고 보험계약을 진행하기도 하죠.
안타까운 사례를 하나 소개합니다.
A씨는 2016년 실손의료보험(실손보험)에 가입했습니다. 실손보험은 병원에서 치료를 받고 지급한 병원비 중 일부를 보상해 주는 보험입니다. 실비보험이라고도 부르죠.
실손보험 청약서에는 ‘최근 5년 이내 수술을 한 사실’을 계약 전 보험사에 알려야 하는 사항으로 정해 두고 있었습니다.
여기에 더 구체적으로 수술을 한 사실이 있다면 그 치료기간까지 구체적으로 기재하도록 돼 있었죠.
A씨는 나름 기억력이 좋은 사람이라 4년 전인 2012년에 수술을 받은 사실을 기억했습니다. 그리고 청약서를 받으러 온 보험설계사에게 수술을 받고 12일을 입원했다고 얘기했습니다.
그런데 보험설계사가 청약서에‘12일’을 ‘2일’로 적었습니다. A씨의 말을 잘 못 듣고 적은 것이었죠.
A씨는 보험설계사가 작성한 서류를 다시 한 번 꼼꼼히 확인하지 않고 모든 사인을 마쳤습니다.
이후 몇 년이 지났습니다.
A씨는 뇌졸중으로 신체가 마비됐고 장기간 병원 신세를 지게 됐습니다. A씨는 병원비가 많이 나왔지만 실손보험이 있으니 괜찮다고 생각하고 추후 보험금 청구를 했습니다.
그런데 ‘마른 하늘에 날벼락’ 같은 소식을 들었습니다.
보험사는 A씨가 과거 12일 동안 입원치료를 받았음에도 3일간 입원치료를 받은 것으로 거짓 고지를 했으니 보험계약을 해지하고 보험금을 줄 수도 없다고 했습니다.
A씨는 처음에는 보험사가 거짓말을 하는 것이 아닌가 생각했지만, 콜센터를 통해 보험가입 시 작성됐던 청약서를 받아 확인 후 두 눈을 의심했습니다.
정말로 수술 후 입원기간이 ‘2일(3일째 퇴원)’로 기재됐던 것이었죠.
결국 A씨는 보험금도 못 받고 믿었던 보험계약도 해지되고 말았습니다.
보험계약을 체결할 때 꼭 보험설계사에게 알린 사실이 제대로 청약서에 기재됐는지 여부를 확인할 필요가 있습니다. 그렇지 않은 경우 소개한 사례와 같은 당황스런 일을 당할 수 있습니다.
이렇게 되면 보험금을 지급받기 위해서 결국 민사소송을 진행해야 하는 만큼 비용과 시간, 그리고 마음고생까지 더해집니다. 결과도 승소를 장담 못하죠.
보험가입 이후에도 직장이나 직무가 바뀌었을 때는 보험사에 통지하는 것이 좋습니다. 이런 것을 ‘통지의무’라고 하죠. 불필요한 보험금 분쟁의 빌미를 제공할 필요가 없기 때문입니다.
법무법인 한앤율 한세영 변호사는 “보험에 가입하는 이유 중 하나는 필요할 때 보상을 받기 위함”이라며“보험 가입 후 직장이나 직무가 변경됐을 때 이를 보험사에 통지하지 않kt기업인터넷으면 추후 보험금 분쟁의 빌미를 제공할 수 있다”고 말했습니다.
한 변호사는 “특히, 보험계약 당시와 비교해 바뀐 직업의 특성상 상해 등의 위험 가능성이 현저히 높아졌을 경우 반드시 보험사에 통지해야 한다”며 “보험가입 때는 사무직이었으나 추후 현장직으로 바뀌었을 경우가 대표적”이라고 설명했습니다.

BNK경남은행은 지점에 방문하지 않아도 모바일ㆍ인터넷뱅킹으로 보험 설계 및 가입이 가능한 ‘비대면 방카슈랑스 가입 서비스’를 오픈하고 이벤트를 진행한다고 30일 밝혔다.
방카슈랑스는 증권사와 은행 등 보험회사 외의 판매사가 금융기관대리점으로서 제휴된 보험사의 상품을 위탁 판매해 종합금융서비스를 제공한다.
이 서비스는 여러 보험 상품의 간편 비교 및 설계부터 가입까지 쉽게 가능해 고객 편의성을 높였다. 이용 방법은 경남은행 모바일ㆍ인터넷뱅킹 내 금융상품몰 보험메뉴에 접속하면 된다.
경남은행은 서비스 오픈에 맞춰 비대면채널에서 가입이 가능한 세액공제용 연금저축보험, 저축보험, 보장성보험, 변액보험 및 외화보험, 대출상환보험, 여행자보험 등 다양한 상품을 선보일 예정이다.
또 종전에 영업점 창구로 가입한 상품도 비대면채널에서 직접 보험료 납부가 가능할 수 있도록 서비스를 제공한다.
투자상품부 이용준 부장은 “앞으로도 변화하는 금융시장에 적극 대응하고 고객들의 니즈와 편의성을 반영한 금융서비스를 제공하기 위해 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.
한편, 경남은행은 비대면 방카슈랑스 가입 서비스 오픈을 기념해 오는 3월 31일까지 ‘대고객 이벤트’를 진행한다.
모바일뱅킹앱 및 인터넷뱅킹으로 간편설계 후 보험료만 조회해도 추첨을 통해 500명에게 스타벅스 커피 쿠폰을 보내준다.

B tv를 이용하면서 SK텔레콤[017670] 갤럭시S23을 구매하는 고객(신규·번호이동·기기 변경 무관)도 대상이 된다.
대상 고객은 SK브로드밴드 공식 홈페이지와 B tv 이벤트 페이지, B다이렉트샵, T다이렉트샵, SK텔레콤 대리점 등에서 응모할 수 있다.
LG유플러스가 개인정보 유출과 인터넷 장애 발생으로 곤욕을 치르고 있다. 가입 고객 29만명의 개인정보가 털린 데다 디도스(DDoS·분산서비스거부) 공격에 무방비로 노출, 일주일 간 다섯 차례에 걸쳐 인터넷망 장애가 발생했기 때문이다. 정보 유출 경로를 확인하기 위해 해커와 금전거래까지 나섰지만 유출 경로를 끝내 밝혀내지는 못한 것으로 파악됐다.
16일 통신업계에 따르면 LG유플러스의 인터넷 장애가 시작된 건 지난달 29일이다. 디도스 공격에 따른 트래픽 과부하로 지난달 29일 오전 2시, 오후 5시, 오후 11시 등 세 차례에 걸쳐 총 63분간 서비스 차질이 발생했다. LG유플러스의 인터넷 장애는 여기서 그치지 않았다. 지난 4일 오후 4시 57분~5시 40분, 오후 6시 7분~23분 등 두 차례에 걸쳐 59분 동안 인터넷 접속이 끊겼다. 일주일간 다섯 차례의 인터넷 장애가 발생한 것이다.
해커 주장에 따르면 지난해 11월에는 서버 해킹으로 29만명의 서비스 가입자 개인정보가 유출됐다. LG유플러스는 해커가 한 해킹포럼에 올린 가입자 개인정보를 판매한다는 글을 뒤늦게 발견하고 개인정보가 유출된 것을 파악했다. 하지만 정확한 피해 규모를 파악하지 못하고 우왕좌왕하는 모습을 보였다. LG유플러스는 지난달 가입자 18만명의 개인정보가 유출된 사실을 확인했다고 밝혔지만, 3주 후 해지 고객 11만명의 정보도 추가로 유출된 정황을 파악했다고 밝혔다. 이에 피해 규모가 29만명에 달한다고 정정했다. LG유플러스 관계자는 “파악한 개인정보 유출 피해자는 29만명으로 한 사람당 중복 유출 등으로 피해 건수는 총 59만건으로 확인했다”라고 설명했다.
LG유플러스가 해커에게 고객 개인정보를 뺏기면서 2차 피해도 우려되는 상황이다. LG유플러스는 유출된 개인정보에 고객번호와 이름, 전화번호는 물론이고 주소, 생년월일, 암호화된 주민번호, 유심번호 등이 포함됐다고 밝혔다. 해커가 수집한 개인정보를 조합해 추가 해킹에 나설 경우 피해 규모는 더 커질 수 있다. 개인정보 유출 피해가 확인된 후에도 적절한 대응을 하지 못했다는 비판이 나온다. 장항배 중앙대 산업보안학과 교수는 “사이버보안 사고 이후 복구 과정을 보면 평소 회사가 보안체계를 어떻게 관리했는지 간접적으로 확인할 수 있다”라며 “LG유플러스는 사이버보안 공격에 대한 위기대응 능력과 보안 콘트롤타워가 없는 게 가장 큰 문제로 보인다”라고 지적했다.
LG유플러스가 추가 피해를 막기 위해 해커와 금전거래에 나선 것도 도마에 올랐다. LG유플러스는 이정문 더불어민주당 의원실에 보낸 자료에서 “보안 협력 업체를 통해 해커(개인정보 판매자)와 접촉했고 소액을 건넨 뒤 정보를 받았다”라며 “판매자는 유출 경로 제시 및 게시글 삭제 등의 조치를 취하지 않았다”라고 했다. 해커와의 부적절한 금전거래에 나섰지만 아무런 소득이 없었다는 의미로 풀이된다.
LG유플러스의 부적절한 대응에 시민단체들은 비판을 쏟아냈다. 한국소비자단체연합은 성명을 내고 “한국인터넷진흥원(KISA)의 연락을 받고 해킹 여부를 알게 됐다는 LG유플러스의 kt기업인터넷전화설명은 보안 불감증을 보여주는 심각한 문제”라며 “정확한 유출 시점과 경위, 개인정보 내역 등을 투명하게 공개해야 한다”라고 주장했다. 소비자주권시민회의도 성명서에서 “LG유플러스는 아직도 유출 경위에 대해 파악하지 못하고 있다”며 “LG유플러스는 엄중하게 처벌하고 수사 결과에 따라 민·형사적 책임을 다하도록 해야 한다”라고 꼬집었다.
한편 LG유플러스는 이날 사이버 공격에 대응하고 보안과 품질을 강화하는 ‘사이버 안전혁신안’을 내놨다. 정보보호 조직과 인력에 대한 투자를 확대하고, 외부 보안전문가와 취약점 사전 점검 및 모의 해킹을 진행한다는 계획이다. 또 미래보안기술에 대한 연구와 투자를 진행하고, 사이버 보안 전문 인력을 육성하겠다고 밝혔다. LG유플러스는 연간 정보보호 투자액도 현재의 3배 수준인 1000억원으로 확대한다.
김승주 고려대 정보보호대학원 교수는 “LG유플러스가 매출액 대비 정보보호에 투자한 금액이 경쟁사 대비 적었다는 건 그만큼 정보보호에 대한 관심과 인식이 낮았다는 것으로 볼 수밖에 없다”며 “이번 결정이 잠시 위기를 넘어가려는 단기적인 대응책이 아닌 고객 신뢰를 회복하기 위한 체질 개선으로 이어지길 바란다”라고 말했다.
지난해 12월초 5%대까지 올랐던 예금금리가 한 달 가량 사이 3~4%대로 떨어졌다. 시장금리가 내리고 있어 예금금리는 더 떨어질 전망이다. 현재 예금 최고금리는 지방은행이 비교적 높다. 아직은 고금리 특판(특별판매)이 많고 일부 은행은 금리를 올린 적금도 팔고 있다.
22일 금융권에 따르면 KB국민·신한·하나·우리·NH농협은행 등 5대 은행의 1년 만기 기준 우대금리 포함 예금 최고금리는 3.87~4.4%에 분포해 있다. 부산·경남·DGB대구·전북·광주은행 등 지방은행의 경우 4.5~5% 수준이다. 카카오뱅크·케이뱅크 등 인터넷전문은행 예금금리는 최고 4.3~4.5%다.
대구은행의 특판(특별판매) 상품인 '더쿠폰예금' 최고금리가 가장 높다. 1년 만기 기본금리는 4%, 최고 5%다. 100만원 이상 5000만원 이하 금액을 예치할 수 있다. 우대금리 1%포인트(p)는 모바일뱅킹 'iM뱅크' 쿠폰함에서 월별 발행되는 금리 쿠폰을 다운받고 신규 가입시 적용하면 제공된다.
인터넷전문은행 예금 상품은 기본금리가 곧 최고금리다. 소비자가 우대금리 제공 요건을 충족할 필요가 없어 편리한 편이다. 카카오뱅크 '정기예금'은 1년 만기 기본금리가 4.5%다. 100만원 이상 예치할 수 있고, 한도는 없다. 케이뱅크 '코드K 정기예금'도 1년 만기 기준 기본금리가 4.4%다.
은행권은 예금금리가 고점에 가깝다고 본다. 시장금리가 하향 안정화하면서 은행들은 지난 13일 한국은행의 기준금리 인상에도 예금금리를 오히려 내리고 있다. 소비자 불만 여론을 고려해 조만간 예금금리를 올릴 계획이긴 하지만 인상 폭, 시기 등을 고심 중이다.
1년 만기 예금의 준거금리인 은행채 1년물(무보증·AAA) 금리는 지난해 11월10일 5.117%로 정점을 찍은 후 지난 19일 기준 3.778%까지 떨어졌다. 두 달여만에 1.339%p 하락했다. 일주일 전인 12일(3.953%)과 비교해도 0.175%p 낮다. 최근에도 시장금리 하락세가 이어지고 있는 셈이다.
추가적인 인상이 없다고 판단하면 만기를 길게 가져가라는 조언이 나온다. 현재 금리를 '고정'하는 전략이다. 3년 만기 기준 예금금리가 높은 상품은 대구은행의 'DGB주거래우대예금(첫만남고객형)'이다. 기본금리 4.04%, 최고금리 4.69%다. 최근 1년 내 대구은행과 처음 예금 거래를 하는 등 조건을 충족하면 총 0.6%p 우대금리를 받는다. 비대면 가입 시에도 0.05%p 우대금리를 준다.
적금도 고려할 만하다. 은행들은 예금과 달리 새해 맞이 적금 특판을 다수 실시하고 있다. 일부 은행은 최근 적금 금리를 올리기도 했다. 적금은 대부분 매월 납입 한도가 정해져 있어 예치되는 금액이 비교적 적다. 예금 대비 은행의 이자 제공 부담이 덜하고, 대출금리를 밀어 올리는 효과 역시 적다.
5대 은행과 지방은행, 인터넷은행에서 현재 가입할 수 있는 특판 적금은 23개다. 예금 특판은 4개다. 카카오뱅크는 지난 20일부터 '자유적금' 1년 만기 기본금리를 0.3%p 인상했다. 우대금리 포함 최고금리는 4.7%다. 시중은행 관계자는 "적금은 새해에 수요가 증가하고 은행 입장에서 부담이 적어 금리 인상이나 특판이 추가로 나올 수 있다"고 말했다.
우대금리 요건이 없는 상품도 적지 않다. 1년 만기 기본금리 자체가 높은 상품으로는 우리은행의 'WON 적금'이 있다. 기본금리가 4.5%다. 전북은행의 'JB다이렉트적금(정액적립식)'과 케이뱅크 '코드K 자유적금'도 기본금리가 각각 4.4%, 4.3%로 높은 편이다.
오늘의집은 인테리어 시공 중개 과정에서 고객이 피해보는 일을 줄이기 위해 ‘인테리어 안심플랜'(가칭)을 도입한다고 17일 밝혔다.
이에 따라 오늘의집은 입점 시공업체를 대신해 이행보증보험에 가입한 뒤 고객이 시공 과정에서 공사 지연이나 하자와 같은 피해를 입을 경우 신속히 보상받을 수 있도록 보호한다는 계획이다.
이행보증보험은 이르면 상반기 중 도입할 예정이다.
이를 통해 오늘의집은 고객 보호는 물론 보험 가입을 위해 구체적인 공사 내역과 기간이 명시된 표준화된 계약도 자리잡을 것으로 보고 있다.
또 오늘의집은 전담팀을 운영, 고객이 오늘의집을 통해 소개받은 시공업체와 인테리어 공사를 진행하다 분쟁이 발생할 경우 시공 상담 전담 직원이 직접 신속한 고객 문제 해결에 나설 계획이다.
4인 가족 가장(家長)인 이모(49)씨가 지난달 부담한 통신 관련 비용은 22만원이 휠씬 넘는다. 본인을 비롯해 아내와 고등학생인 딸, 초등학생인 아들 모두 같은 통신 업체에 가입돼 있기 때문에 가족 간 결합 할인 혜택과 2년간 통신 업체를 바꾸지 않겠다는 선택약정 할인(월 이동통신 요금의 25% 감면)을 챙겨받았지만 여전히 부담되는 액수다.
자세한 내역을 들여다보니 이씨 본인은 월 이통 요금과 스마트폰 단말기 할부금을 합쳐 약 7만원, 아내는 이통 요금과 단말기 할부금까지 약 6만1000원을 냈고, 저렴한 청소년 요금제를 쓰는 딸과 아들에겐 각각 약 2만3000원과 1만9900원이 청구됐다. 집에서 쓰는 인터넷 회선 요금 약 3만7900원(유선전화·인터넷TV 결합상품)에 가족들이 즐겨보는 온라인 동영상 서비스(OTT) 넷플릭스 이용료 1만3500원(동시 2명 이용 가능한 요금제)을 다 합치니 총 22만6220원에 달했다. 이씨는 “통신 업체가 제공하는 할인 혜택을 받고 있는 데다, 비용들이 각기 따로 청구돼왔기 때문에 별거 아니라고 생각했었다”며 “하지만 정작 이렇게 합쳐보니까 정말 쉽게 볼 문제가 아닌 것 같다”고 했다.
통계청이 지난해 3분기 기준으로 발표한 가계(家計) 동향 가운데 통신비 지출은 전년 동기 대비 2.8% 증가한 월 평균 13만1000원이었다. 하지만 이씨 가족 사례에서 볼 수 있듯이 일반 국민, 특히 서민들이 체감하거나 실제 부담하는 통신 관련 비용 지출은 훨씬 더 많다. 현재 통계청이 매년 분기마다 발표하는 가계 통신 지출 항목은 스마트폰 같은 통신 장비와 이동통신·유선전화·인터넷 요금을 집계한 수치다. 이 집계에서는 최근 통신 3사가 주도적으로 확산시키고 있는 각종 OTT는 빠진다. 실제로 국민들의 OTT 이용률은 지난 2020년 66.3%에서 지난해 72%로 증가(방송통신위 조사)했고 국내 유료 OTT 가입자 중 60.7%는 OTT를 2개 이상 이용(정보통신정책연구원 조사)하고 있다.
우리나라 통신요금 체계가 소비자들이 실제로 쓰는 데이터양보다 휠씬 높은 요금제에 가입하도록 유도하는 기형적 구조라는 점도 국민의 통신비 부담을 줄이지 못하게 만드는 원인이다. 과학기술정보통신부에 따르면, 국내 5G 이용자 가운데 데이터 무제한 요금제 가입자들이 쓴 1인당 월 평균 데이터양은 지난해 12월 기준으로 50.4GB(기가바이트)로 집계됐다. 하지만 통신 3사 대리점에서 가입 가능한 5G 요금제에는 데이터 40~100GB 구간에 해당되는 정규 요금제(성인 기준)가 없다. 통신 3사의 5G 요금제를 보면, SK텔레콤은 24GB(월 5만9000원) 다음이 바로 110GB(6만9000원)로 넘어가고, KT 역시 30GB(6만1000원) 다음이 110GB(6만9000원)이다. LG유플러스도 31GB(6만1000원) 다음이 150GB(7만5000원)로 중간 구간을 커버하는 요금제(중간요금제)가 운영되지 않고 있다.
무제한 요금제 가입자들조차 데이터를 모두 소비하지 못하는데 어쩔 수 없이 110GB 이상 요금제 또는 무제한 요금제(월 8만원 이상)를 쓰고 있는 것이다. 소비자 입장에선 저가 요금제로는 데이터가 부족하기 때문에 더 비싼 요금제를 쓰도록 선택을 강요받고 있다는 불만이 나올 수 밖에 없는 것이다.
2월 둘째 주 은행 12개월 정기예금 상품 가운데 세전 이자율 기준 최고 금리는 연 4.50%인 것으로 나타났다. 우대 조건 등을 활용하면 0.1%포인트라도 높은 금리를 받을 수 있어 꼼꼼히 살펴볼 필요가 있다.
12일 금융감독원 금융상품통합비교공시에 따르면 은행 12개월 정기예금 가운데 세전 이자율 기준 기본 금리가 가장 높은 상품은 대구은행 ‘DGB함께예금’으로 연 4.50%의 금리를 제공한다.
DGB함께예금은 최고 연 0.4%포인트의 금리우대 혜택이 있다. 전월 총수신 평잔 30만원 이상 또는 첫만남플러스 통장 보유 시, 주택청약상품 보유 시, 신규일 ‘DGB함께적금’ 동시 가입 후 만기일까지 보유 시, 대구은행 오픈뱅킹서비스에 다른 은행 계좌 등록 시 각각 0.1%포인트의 우대금리가 적용된다.
인터넷 또는 스마트뱅킹을 통해 가입하면 0.05%를 추가 우대해준다. 100만원 이상 가입할 수 있다.
